昔々、速いウサギと遅いカメがいました。

ある日、ウサギはカメに自慢して言いました。

「僕はかけっこがとても速いんだ。君なんて絶対に負けるよ。」

カメは穏やかに答えました。

「じゃあ、競争しよう。」

二人は山の頂上まで競争することになりました。

最初から、ウサギは走ってカメを置いていきました。

しかし、途中でウサギは昼寝をすることにしました。

その間に、カメはゆっくりと歩き続け、ついにウサギに追いついて、山の頂上に到達しました。

ウサギが目を覚ました時には、もうカメが勝っていました。

Once upon a time, there was a fast rabbit and a slow tortoise.

One day, the rabbit boasted to the tortoise,

"I'm so fast! You'll never beat me."

The tortoise calmly replied,

"Then let's have a race."

They decided to race to the top of the mountain.
