Key Characteristics

Result doesn't change

The condition doesn't affect the result

Rain or not, I'm still going

Shows determination or unchanging result

Different from regular conditionals

Regular:
"If it rains, I won't go" (result changes)

"Even if it rains, I'll go" (result unchanged)

Opposite logic!

Common Conversations

Example 1: Showing Determination

   "I heard it'll rain tomorrow"

"Even if it rains, I'll go"

A: 本当に?
   "Really?"

Example 2: Giving Permission

Common Mistakes

Mistake 1: Confusing with たら

"If it rains, I won't go" (condition affects result)

"Even if it rains, I'll go" (result unchanged)

Opposite meanings!

Mistake 2: Wrong て-form

Wrong:
"Even if (you) go"

Use correct て-form!

Mistake 3: Using です before も

Wrong:
"Even if (you're) a student"

Use で, not です!
