What is 〜せいで?
〜せいで (or 〜せいだ) expresses that something bad happened because of someone or something. It implies blame or fault, meaning "because of," "due to," or "it's [someone's] fault."
彼のせいで、遅れた
"Because of him, I was late" (It's his fault)
雨のせいで、中止になった
"Because of the rain, it was cancelled"
寝坊したせいで、試験に遅刻した
"Because I overslept, I was late for the exam"
