What is Present Tense in Japanese?
Japanese "present tense" is actually a non-past tense that covers both present and future meanings. It's used for current states, habitual actions, general truths, and future events.
食べる

Two Forms: Plain and Polite
Plain Form (Dictionary Form)
食べる - eat
