Both Possible, Different Meaning

With 会う (meet)

駅に会う - "meet AT the station" (destination)

Both grammatically correct, で more common for "meet at."

With いる

部屋でいる - ✗ Usually wrong

Exception: When emphasizing action/state in a place:
