What is 〜が?
が as a connector means "but" or "however," joining two clauses within the same sentence to show mild contrast or contradiction. It's more formal and softer than でも or けど, making it common in polite speech and written Japanese. This が is different from the subject-marking particle が.
高いですが、買います。
"It's expensive, but I'll buy it."
